What to do ![]()
Besides relaxing in the warm sunshine with the salty breeze, you can also travel around the island to see the sights. Some villages are Lambertville, Lords Cove, and Richardson. There are located at the north end of the island and their attractions include lobster pounds, wharves, weirs, salmon sites, beaches, breakwaters, scenic routes, public telephones, credit union, churches, and grocery stores. In the village of Fairhaven, otherwise known as "God's Country", because of all the sunny weather. There is the only gasoline convenience store on the island, so fill up! The village of Leonardville has lovely, scenic views along the roadside. There are four, off-shore lighthouses to see here.
Other than driving around Deer Island, you can also take a kayak, canoe, or boat literally around the island. There are many tours available off the coast. Please refer to the Winks page (otherwise known as the Links page).
There are also many gift shops and art galleries for you to enjoy. There are signs pointing you in the right direction. Check out the wharves for fishing, grab a bite to eat at a local restaurant, go beach combing, take a bike ride around the hills, or travel through a wood trail.
There are also rock formations called "The Devil's Hand", located off road towards Nor-West Harbour, and the "Circle of Love" located by boat on Passamaquoddy Bay.
